1 corndog, 1 slurpee, please

Like many kiddos, my boys love visiting their Grandma and Grandpa in Anacortes. I know they love their Grandma and Grandpa, but sometimes, just sometimes, I wonder if it the Grandparents or the corndog and slurpee they are most excited to see. . .

Being that I have been helping out Dan's parents for almost 2 years, our kids have gotten to see Grandma and Grandpa Williamson just about every other week. I love that our kids are lucky enough to see both sets of Grandparents so frequently and know that they will especially cherish the time spent with them when they are older. What I don't always love is the corndogs, slurpees, entire candy aisle, ice cream case, l o n g chip aisle, racks of cookies and pastries, and whatever else a kid's heart could desire. Junk food city and full availability despite my best protests to Grandma and Grandpa regarding cholestorol, heart attacks at a young age (say age 5), and becoming candidates for one of my favorite shows, The Biggest Loser later in life!

See, Dan's mom and Dad own Conway Foods, a very large convenience store and gas station in Conway (exit 221 off of I-5 - the 76 station just in case you'd like to stop next trip to LaConner!), where everything is available and everything is free for my children's choosing. Will it be a red slurpee or green? Perhaps a tootsie pop or maybe just 4 tootsie pops. Hmmm . . . Ben & Jerry's or an ice cream sandwich? Pringles or Fritos? Corndog or chicken strips? The list could go on . . .

Needless to say, my kids are *true* "kids in a candy store" when they visit Grandma and Grandpa.

I bet you can't tell they love their visits, although luckily it is for more than just a slurpee and a corndog!

I LOVE the pic of Connor with his corndog and drink. He looks so pleased. :)
